The Early Years Program is celebrating 30 Years of serving children and families in the Jacksonville School District.

2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the Early Years Program.

The Early Years Program began in 1986 with 1 classroom at Lafayette School, 2 teachers and a teacher's aide. There were 15 students the first year. Today the program has grown to include 7 classrooms at three different sites - The Morgan County Housing Authority is the landlord for classrooms located at Walnut Court and VAS, Murrayville United Methodist Church is the landlord for our classroom located in their church hall, and we have a classroom in the School District #117 Central Office building. There are 6 teachers, 6 paraprofessionals, a Director, a secretary, and 2 custodians on staff to serve 180 students. A Birth to 3 program staffed by 5 Parent Educators has also been added to Early Years to provide services for families with younger children.

We have enjoyed serving the Jacksonville community for the last 30 years and look forward to many more years of growth and learning!
